Things to Do

What should we do in Halifax? What about Nova Scotia?

There are so many fun ways to spend the summer in Nova Scotia!

Our favourite local guide (Haley!) has put together an incredible doc highlighting all her must-see places within and around Halifax and the South Shore. Her restaurant recs never disappoint and there’s something in there for everyone. Plus, she’s a coffee connoisseur (aka caffeine addict) and I can guarantee that her cafe and coffee shop recs won’t disappoint!

Taking the Lighthouse Route to Port Mouton

If you have the time to take a leisurely drive to the South Shore, we highly recommend the famous Lighthouse Route that goes along the coast from Halifax to Port Mouton and beyond!

This scenic drive is worth it for lighthouse and maritime enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys a beautiful view. You’ll stop in some of the most picturesque towns in Nova Scotia (Chester, Lunenburg) and see some of the province’s best views (Peggy’s Cove, Mahone Bay).

As you’re heading out of Halifax, you’ll see signs along the highway directing you to the Lighthouse Route (Trunk 3 road). To get some ideas of where to stop along the way, we recommend checking out this guide. If you only have time for one stop, Lunenburg shouldn’t be missed!
